Learn How My Son Recovered from the Rehabilitation Program
The rehabilitation program taught us how insidious these drug pushers are at luring in new recruits to the lifestyle. They may use alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana as soft drugs to lure people into their cliques. The sad part is that many of these drug addicts are the rich kids who have a lot of expendable income for drugs. They are also very popular in school for their expansive network of friends who are afraid of speaking negatively about them. Any kid can be pulled into the peer pressures of conforming with the popular kids and the niche kids who give them lots of personal attention and favors.
If your son is not forming normal relationships, they are easily preyed upon by these older drug addicts. If they don’t have a steady girlfriend or job, they will have lots of idle time to fall victim to the fast lane lifestyle these kids sell. There are lots of parties and lots of opportunities for easy sex as an enticement. The drugs are often cheap and abundant. Anyone can become intoxicated and addicted to these drugs by merely associating with users. The potency of marijuana and products laced with heroin can hover in the air and intoxicate anyone nearby without actually voluntarily smoking anything.
Luckily, we were able to make major lifestyle changes to keep my son out of the social circle that was absorbing him into their Venus Flytrap. He stopped talking to all of his former friends. He learned a skill and got a good job. He now has a steady girlfriend whom he plans to marry when he is finished with his vocational training and receives a full-time position. He is no longer fascinated by the drug innuendos of those rock bands that were secretly promoting heroin in cryptic lyrics and imagery. He is happy because he knows that his family loves him and that we would do anything in the world to have him succeed in life and to remain drug-free.
